 PAINTOUT SCHEDULE

Portrait Studies in Oil of Everyday People

This collection of portraits and figures were painted in oil with a live model.  Most sessions are three hours, however models take short breaks every twenty minutes.  This type of painting is very direct and captures the mood and likeness of the model.  It takes many years to learn the skills of shape, form, lighting, color and likeness and painting from "life" enables this to be sucessful.  Painting from photographs has many difficulties and it is difficult to give life to a model as the camera does not show the complexities and nuances of painting a person.  it is always worth the struggle and joy.
